AFErd series is used in various production processes: chemical additives, polymers, lubricants, fatty acids, stabilizers etc. and especially where mixing process manage temperature and pressure higher than 2 or 3 barg, vapours, etc.
The selection of mechanical seal’s materials depends on product's nature related to corrosion and to vapours originated by the chemical reaction. Besides, the choice depends on physical characteristics such as density and viscosity. In case of high temperatures an external independent chamber with continuous circulation of cold water is required.
A double mechanical seal is enclosed in a flushing chamber with continuous circulation of lubricating, quench and cooling fluid: the seal shall be counter-pressurised at 1 bar above operating pressure and equipped with inlet/outlet threaded connections.
